10 Cruise Cabin Essentials We Never Sail Without

One of the best things about cruising is unpacking once and waking up somewhere new each day. But cruise cabins can be surprisingly different from hotel rooms, and there are a few items we now pack for every sailing.

After several cruises, these are the cruise cabin essentials that have earned a permanent place in our luggage.

1. A European Travel Adapter

This is probably the most important item on our packing list.

Many cruise ships have a limited number of UK plug sockets, especially in standard cabins. A good travel adapter gives you access to additional European outlets and makes charging phones, cameras and other devices much easier.

If you're travelling with multiple gadgets, you'll thank yourself later.

2. AirTags

Luggage occasionally goes missing, whether that's at the airport, during transfers or somewhere between home and the ship.

We always place an AirTag in every suitcase.

They're small, affordable and provide peace of mind throughout the journey.

Being able to see exactly where your luggage is can remove a surprising amount of travel stress.

3. A USB Charging Hub

Between phones, watches, cameras, microphones and headphones, we seem to travel with more chargers every year.

A compact USB charging hub helps keep everything organised and means you're not constantly swapping cables between devices.

It's one of those items you don't realise you need until you have it.

4. Packing Cubes

Packing cubes have completely changed the way we travel.

Instead of digging through a suitcase every morning, everything stays organised and easy to find.

They make unpacking in your cabin much quicker too.

5. A Portable Power Bank

Cruise days can be long.

We always carry one ashore, particularly on excursion days when we may be away from the ship for several hours.

6. A Reusable Water Bottle

Most cruise ships make it easy to refill a water bottle throughout the day.

It's also a more environmentally friendly option than constantly buying bottled water.
